Samsung Electronics has announced its UltraTOUCH S8300 touchscreen slider phone. The slim phone measures 12.7mm (0.5in) thin and features a slide-out number pad for dialing calls and typing text messages. The S8300 has a scratch-resistant touchscreen 2.8-inch AMOLED display. AMOLED merges OLED and TFT technologies for vivid, bright, and colorful images.

Downloads should be snappy on the phone's HSDPA data connection. GPS navigation and geo-tagging are supported by the UltraTOUCH's onboard GPS chip. The UltraTOUCH also features an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and VGA video recording.
